The computational challenge for ATLAS exceeds in scale and complexity anything that has been achieved to date in any field of endeavour. It will require a computing system consisting of thousands of processors, petabytes of storage and a terabit network capable of serving hundreds to thousands of users located around the world. The ATLAS Collaboration has developed the ATLAS Computing Model to meet this challenge. It will require the utilization of computer storage and processing facilities around the world unified into a Grid.
The ATLAS group at the University of Victoria is a heavily involved in these activities.
