Minutes of the UVic testbeam meeting on June18 2002

 (present: Ian G., Tamara, Tayfun, Margret, Michel)


 This week's minutes are short as most of the meeting was
 taken up by Ian's interactive tutorial to his TBRootAna package.

 You will find a very instructive  guide to the package.

 ---

 Tayfun reported, that he explored different fitting methods
 to a histogram of an energy cluster.

 First iteratively fitted Gaussians to to find the best range
 over which to fit the distribution.
 Since most distributions have some kind of a tail, he then
 selected the region of the energy distribution that is actually
 consistent with a Gaussian and fitted only that.

 Tayfun will concentrate on a clusterfinding method next.

 ---

 Michel reported that he has contacted the Atlas secretariat
 and requested Cern Atlas accounts for the students. These
 account should be ready early next week.
