Minutes of the Testbeam Meeting, held Tuesday, September 10, 2002 Present: ML (Chair), NK, TI, RK, TS, MF, IG) 1. Tuesday at 10:30 will be the time for the next meetings of this term. - Minutes will be on the web. 2. Activities of the group. a. M.F.: Monitoring of the testbeam. Shifts at CERN. b. N.K.: Monitoring and converter. Shifts at CERN. Need to modify the event module. (LArTBEvent Package). Working on calibrations for EMEC. Try to reproduce the same results of Pavol. c. M.L.: Shifts at CERN. Understand Naoko’s analysis package in detail. Offline preliminary data analysis - specifically the timing. d. T.S.: Worked with TBRootAna. Now very proficient. Looked at electron data from 2001. Shifts at CERN - awesome. e. T.I.: Worked on pion data - only three runs available. Worked on electrons - looked at linearity (1%). Looked at clustering on a run to run basis. f. I.G.: Worked on TBRootAna. Tried to install Athena code locally. Procedure is not complicated but obscure. Learn how to run Athena at CERN. Use PERL scripts to modify Job Options files. Re-did all 2001 electron data. Now on disk here - AFS. 3. What do we need to do next? a. Computing - Install on FATE. - Margret will get ID’s for everyone. - 5-15% packet loss between FATE-CERN. RKK will look into this. - AFS is needed on FATE. b. i) Run Athena locally ii) HECTBMon Repository locally iii) Storage for data files iv) Copy of log book v) Run database on the web, kept up to date. vi) Learn how to run Athena locally vii) Timing studies viii) Calibration - Shape 1ns resolution (Delay scan) - ADC - nA (Ramp data) - Signal Shape with calibration pulse ix) Data Signal reconstruction x) Next version of TBRootAna - Define ntuple structure xi) Look at relative alignment of EMEC/HEC xii) Shower development and leakage. 4. Teach Tayfun and Tamara how to run Athena - M.L.
