Minutes of the UVic Testbeam meeting held Friday, September 3 2004
(present: TH, RK, ML, IG, AAgrewal, AAstbury, WS)

Michel pointed out that all the various talks presented at larg week are available from the cern agenda maker system.  Specifically the links for all atlas meetings are available here. To navigate to a particular talk, say Tamara's LArg week talk, you would follow the links in this way:
Liquid Argon Calorimeter ->
LArg Weeks ->
LArg Week September 2004 ->
CBT-EC2: EMEC/HEC/FCAL agenda link ->
EMEC/HEC 2002: Further Results on Hadronic Energy Reconstruction transparencies link

There is some concern that linking directly to a talk there may result in dead links later, hence the navigation procedure. Michel also commented on TDC wrap around problems. It was expected that having two TDCs would eliminate the 25 ns uncertainty in events that occur near the TDC wrap around. However, events occurring near the wrap around of one TDC occur near the wrap around of the other TDC.

Warren has updated his code on lxplus to 8.6.0. This week he sat down with Michel to go over the details of the sequencer. He has managed to hack Peter Lock's code down to get just reconstructed energies for the FCAL, EMEC and HEC. The code compiles fine but he encountered a problem when trying to run the code. Michel and Richard commented that the problem is likely a result of booking histograms in the initialize method rather then at the first event, or to not booking the histograms at the first event.

Tamara showed various plots from her LAr week talk which can be found via the above procedure. Richard commented that to better understand what was happening with her error bars she should try 2-D scans of the Chi-squared while minimizing at each step. Tamara also intends to do a global fit to obtain beam energy independent weights.

Ashok recently realized that the atlas software directory was lost in the June double drive failure disaster. Since this discovery has only been made recently the TSM tape backup has been overwritten. With the use of his valuable paper notebook he has been able to install a recent atlas release. He also noted that the distribution kit releases are slightly different then the cern afs releases due to efficiency concerns.

Ian has been working down his schedule for fixes to the LArG4TbEmecHec. Meanwhile Margret has been in consultation with several people at cern regarding the future of our G4 efforts.  He has also been working to install Geant 4.6.2 on the fates.
