Meeting Agenda

Rob for Kai: Rob showed us a set of slides produced by Kai linked from the agenda. Kai  has started to look at the effects of electronics problems on ETMiss using simulation. For example he is injecting HV problems. Alan asked what went into ETMiss and the short answer is EM ENdcap, Barrel, Tile, and and Muon Chambers. Alan then also commented that it's important to cosider pileup when doing ETMiss. Michel commented that there is 2.5% chance of a pile up event at 10^31 luminosity. Pof asked if one dead HV line causes a failure of multiple contiguous cells or a distributed failure and the answer is distributed failure. Kai would like to run his simulations using UVic computing power. It was agreed that this is a good idea.

Rob showed us a summary of what he has been doing. It was brought up that BNL is producing some Event Summary Data(ESD) files using Atlas unsanctified software for the recent Tuscon workshop.

Margret, Ian and Pof have been continuing there work on Test Beam G4. It was brought up that the G4 output has to be calibrated to the electromagnetic scale. Michel pointed out that it might be worth contacting Guillaume Unal at Orsay for information on how this is being done in other places.

Rolf is using the Topocluster alogorithm to analyze the pool files he has made using his converter. It apears that the energy deposited in the HEC is constant no matter what is changed, therefore there is obviously a bug or an incorrect job options somewhere. Rob suspects it's something to do with the the wrong pedastal file being used.

Warren was having trouble getting his grid Canada certificate authorized for use at CERN. He will be talking to Randy/Grid Group about the issue.
