Meeting Agenda

Richard pointed out to us that next week we'll be visited by a graduate student applicant. Furthermore, Rob will be joining us in Victoria for two days (Wednesday and Thursday).

Michel gave a concise overview over the meetings of the Calorimeter Performance Workshop. His text-file under our meeting agenda contains a nice summary and he also included the agenda of the plenary as a starting point for us to catch up on more of the details.

Margret explained some of the problems she is facing when trying to fix the identifier of the presampler: The HitManagement needs to be modified, which leads to a segmentation fault when looping over the Hits in a HitCollection.

Warren had a more detailed look at the code (LArRawChannelSimpleBuilder) to see where the energy scale is applied. He also presented a study of the pedestals of some runs he had looked at. (Michel reminded us that it is important to keep in mind whether to look at pedestal or rms noise (or both) and not to mix the two concepts!) Warren is waiting for the OFC, which are to come from Rob and the 2004 TB MC, the status of which appears to be a bit up in the air at the moment.

Tayfun explained some of the problems he faced when trying to run HEP-vis. Michel suggested that it might have to do with the X-Win32 interface. After looking at some events that Margret had generated earlier, he will now move on and generate some vents himself and have a more detailed look at what the CalibrationHits contain.

Kai has produced a sample of 2000 pion events using the full ATLAS setup with CalibrationHits. He will validate those events and then start a production of more. (He still needs to think about what should be generated.)
