Meeting Agenda

Michel gave an overview over the Calibration Workshop, which took place on July 14/15. The text file he attached to this meeting's agenda contains all the issues he addressed. Rolf added that Sven made changes to the code that are in release 10.0.2, and with that he finds that he now get one (rather than several) topoclusters for electrons. Rolf also mentioned, that Peter would like to see the full hadronic calibration and jet calibration chains running by Christmas.

Margret Gave a little overview over how the different energies of the CalibrationHits are classified in the code.

Tayfun reported that he generated events with a patch provided by Margret. The patch is supposed to fix the identifier for the HEC and assign the invalid hits found just outside the last pads of each region to the last pad of the region. Tayfun reported that he sees no change in energy. This is consistent with what Margret had seen for a few events she examined closely: The invalid hits seem to have zero energy.

Warren showed first set of detailed results of a comparison between topo-cluster and sliding-window algorithms used in x/y position scans. Generally, he finds that the EMEC response is a little bit too high. Apart from that, when using the sliding window algorithm, he sees a high energy tail that extends way beyond what is physically possible. Michel suggested that this tail might be due to double counting of cells. Rob pointed out that for the 2004 testbeam the ADC->nA values, which are calculated by Pavol from the Ramp Runs will need to be re-done in order for the EMEC energies to be reconstructed better.

Rolf gave us a brief update on the status of his CaloNoiseTool. He is planning to commit his code while he is in Lisbon next week.
