HEC2 C wheel rotated
November 2002

Pictures sent by Roy of the hadronic endcap calorimeter second wheel (HEC2 C) during rotation in building 180 at CERN, 27 November 2002.
A few words of wisdom from Roy:

"The 'good news' is .... the HEC2 C Wheel has been rotated and is being prepared for HV testing. There is no 'bad news'.

Once again, the procedure went very smoothly. There were a few creaks and groans when the load was first lifted off the Support Structure, but once stable, the rest of the operation was routine. The stiffening brace did its job very well, and this can be seen in the photographs. With the brace in place, the table deformation, of 2.8mm, was slightly less than with the HEC1 Wheel.

So, having now lifted and rotated the 90 tonne 'donut' successfully, we do not expect any surprises during the remainder of the wheel assembly program."
