MOUNT WELLS

Humpback Reservoir [448 Kb]

Mount Wells Regional Park is a recent addition to the CRD park system in Victoria. The trailhead for the summit trail is located just south of Goldstream Provincial Park at the Humpback Reservoir, which was once part of the Victoria water supply. The summit trail is short but steep, gaining about 220 meters in 1.3 km. Views from the 352 meter summit extend eastward to Victoria and northward to glimpses of Saanich Inlet and the Gowlland Range. Immediately to the northwest is the Sooke Hills Wilderness Regional Park Reserve, not yet (in June 2005) open to the public.
