Dear ATLAS Canada colleagues,

The workshop will take place Monday 11 December (starting at 10 AM) and
Tuesday 12 December (finishing by 5 PM). Useful information can be found
on our workshop web site

http://particle.phys.uvic.ca/atlas/events/PhysicsWorkshop2006/

including previous bulletins for the meeting which can be found under
"Announcements" near the top of the page. In particular, read the
information regarding internet connection available at the workshop (under
"Where"). If you plan to come and have not registered, please do it
urgently as we are now making final catering arrangements.

The agenda will be updated at http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=5245

We anticipate an broad range of topics, including an invited theory talk,
sessions on commissioning, reconstruction and calibration (including
testbeam), plus of course physics.

If you have not already requested a talk, please send your request BEFORE
MONDAY 27 NOVEMBER 2006 to both

lefebvre@uvic.ca and
rmcphers@triumf.ca

We anticipate accepting most requests for talks, but would like to ensure
some coherence in case of near duplication.

Monika Wielers and Rolf Seuster will be conducting the software tutorial,
which takes place Wednesday 13 December from 09:00 to 16:00. The link to
details of the "Trigger Aware Analysis" software tutorial can be found on
the workshop web page under "Software Tutorial", or directly at

http://particle.phys.uvic.ca/twiki/bin/view/Main/SoftwareTutorial13Dec06

This page will be augmented in the near future. No remote access to the
tutorial will be available, but people that cannot attend can of course
benefit from the tutorial web page.

For the tutorial, please bring your own laptop:
* DHCP and wireless Ethernet will be provided.
* make sure to have ssh properly installed
* you need to be able to open X11 connections in order to look at the root
histograms! We anticipate participants to work in groups of two. Each group
needs at least one laptop meeting these requirements.

If you cannot bring your own laptop or your laptop does not fulfill these
requirements, please let Rolf know well in advance so that a solution can
be found. If you have any questions regarding the tutorial, please contact
Rolf Seuster at seuster@uvic.ca.

Thanks to Rolf, our workshop web site also features a list of suggested
dinning.

Best regards,
Lorraine, Rob and Michel
