Minutes of feedthrough meeting of January 24, 2000. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: MGF, GV, PB, Pof, MLenc, RK, TH, RL, JL *) Milestones - - The TIS burst vessel and weld test samples have been completed and will be shipped to CERN this week. - The production database is being filled by GV and AD. It is likely that fine tuning of the database will continue until we are into production. - The Berg vacuum cable Purchase Requisition was sent to TRIUMF today (24 Jan). The PO will follow in a few days. - Facilities Management has started cleaning the lab today (and finished on tuesday). *) Aaron and pof are working on resource loaded schedule plots. These are to be completed by 1 Feb. *) The final hardcopy Safety Study Report (the agreement between UVIC and TIS on the feedthrough construction procedures) is being sent to us by Desirelli. *) Albin Effernelli has agreed with an option to provide us with a Tee fitting (the gland) to be welded to the warm flange at UVIC. *) The HEC pigtail and LV vacuum cable order is expected to go out to Axon this week. *) There was much discussion on the issue of the bad steel (MACRO-inclusions...) discovered by Nor-Cal while machining the BNL flanges. - BNL has asked the shop machining their pincarriers to check that steel. So far, that lot of steel looks ok. - Mark L. travelled to Sicom to check our lot of steel with a microscope. Aside from one minor flaw (~ 1 mm long) no problems were found. Ebco has also seen no problems. - BNL will send Kain, Muller, Heller, and one other person from BNL purchasing to Timken on 26 January to try to understand and resolve the problem. One hopes that Timken will be able to identify how the problem occured and what steel was effected, thus making it possible to reject only part of the last shipment rather than the whole lot. BNL will carry to Timken a note written by Terry outline UVIC's positon. - Terry will stay in contact with Dave Rahm until the steel issue is resolved. - We will hold a feedthrough meeting on wednesday 26 January to reassess the steel issue. Agenda for next week: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - milestones - bad steel fallout - RohacellRohacel progress - FT -1 progress / plans - AOB
