Minutes of feedthrough meeting of February 07, 2000. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: AD, MGF, GV, PB, Pof, MLenc, RK, TH, RL, JL *) Milestones - - FT -1 was welded - The `resource loaded' schedule plots are done and available for perusal at http://wwwhep.phys.uvic.ca/~pof/atlas/plans/ - The TIS SSR (Safety Study Report) is now finalized and approved. - The TIS pressure vessel and weld samples have arrived at CERN. - The rohacell cutting is ~ 50% complete. *) Steel Issues: - The balance of Victoria's steel is expected to be shipped by Timken around the end of this month, give or take one week. - It remains unclear what actions will be taken by BNL regarding their lot of bad steel. *) - A weld plan must be supplied to TIS by SM and us *before* we go into production. *) - Richard expressed concern that the time estimate (one day) for the cold tests is is too short. Running it over a second day requires that we top up the LN2 sometime late in the evening. We should investigate the possibility of using some sort of auto fill device. *) - Ebco expects that machining of some of the warm and cold flanges will be complete by Feb 10 or 11; Roy will visit Ebco to examine the finished flanges. *) - The first shipment of pigtails should be on its way. We should check with Orsay for shipping information so that we can track its progress. *) - The Tee piece for the ambient flange gland has been designed to accomodate the possible use of the flange heaters that Dave Rahm is investigating. These heaters would cost ~US$1,000 each. Roy will contact Dave on how his investigations are progressing. *) Jobs for this week: - Continue cutting the rohacell. - Set up cold vacuum tests for feedthrough -1; thermal tests should also be performed during the cold tests. - Sort out the label issue for the FCI cables. (Labels were ordered on 9 Feb AM.) - The `pigtail stretch' test remains to be done. - The temperature vs current test of a pin Agenda for next week: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - milestones - bad steel report - FT -1 progress / plans - report from Roy on Ebco flange machining - ambient flange heater update - plans for LARG week - AOB
