Minutes of feedthrough meeting of February 14, 2000. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: AD, MGF, GV, PB, Pof, MLenc, TH, RL, JL *) Milestones - - FT -1 has been installed in the cold station. - The rohacell cutting will be completed today. - The vacuum cable labels have been ordered and will be delivered directly to FCI/Berg. - Two more pincarriers arrived last week. They have been leak checked (and passed) but not cold cycled. This might represent the last of the CERN steel. - RFQ out for second BNC pulser. *) Steel Issues: - Roy phoned Ebco about the flange machining, but Ebco had nothing ready yet for inspection. Ebco now expects that machining of some of the warm and cold flanges will be completed by the end of this week or early next week; Mark will visit Ebco then to examine the finished flanges. - Sicom is now setting up for the final machining of the bolt rings. *) - There has been no information provide by Orsay regarding the pigtail shipment. *) - The helium leak checker was showing some signs of possible loss of sensitivity. Upon invesitigation, it was found that the `line in' settings had somehow been set to 50 Hz! After restoring it back to 60 Hz and performing a recalibration, the leak checker appears to be behaving again, however, it should be closely monitored. *) Jobs for this week: - Continue cold vacuum tests and thermal tests for feedthrough -1. A primary purpose of these vacuum tests is to make sure that we understand the characteristics of potential leaks in either the feedthrough or the test setup. - Organize the electrical test LabView VI's. - Write a LabView VI for the second fanout/scanner. - The `pigtail stretch' test remains to be done. - The temperature vs current test of a pincarrier pin. Agenda for next week: (MGF or RKK to chair) ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - Milestones - Report from PB on FT -1 progress and plans. This report will include the results of the thermal tests, as well as the current understanding of leak check procedures. PB will circulate a `list of procedures' document for the cold leak checks, along with a simple schematic diagram of the various volumes and joints being leak checked. - Report from Mark on Ebco flange machining (?) - AOB
