Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 1 May, 2000. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: GV, AD, Pof, TH, PB, MLenc *) Milestones: - The purchase order for the HLT 270 has been received by Pfieffer; delivery is 7-8 weeks. - PB put two samples of rohacell into the bell jar to check how much it expands when dried out. One sample was a long piece with a steel rule attached, and the other was cut as it would be for production - a half circle shape with slots cut out for vacuum cables. After one day of pumping, no expansion (or any other shape distortion) was observed. We will resume pumping today. - PB, AD, and GV were trained in operating the electrical test hardware and VI's. *) Still no vacuum cables. *) We still require revised delivery schedules for the pincarriers. *) 12 yrds of conductive foam and 500 pieces of precut graphite will be ordered today. The delivery time is 2-3 weeks for the foam and ~5 weeks for the graphite. Terry will try to obtain five more graphite sample pieces (large enough for our resistor footprints) so that we can carry out the last cold-station thermal test as soon as the conductive foam arrives. Some bench tests will also be carried out to compare the foam, graphite and thermal grease. Also, samples of each type will be given to CJO to be rad checked. *) Mark contacted Sicom regarding the funnel base delivery. The funnel bases still required holes to be drilled and tapped, which was to be carried out today (1 May). They are to be shipped to us on Tuesday or Wednesday. After inspection and cleaning of the weld lips, the bases will be shipped along with the lower funnel tubes to SM for assembly of the funnels. *) Aaron will arrange for Dave Smith to drill and tap the holes in the warm flanges to accept the heaters. *) Mark will calculate how much of the resistor footprint needs to be milled out to allow for ~2 mm clearance between the resistor and the VCR nut on the Tee piece.
