Minutes For 10 July 2000

On Wed 5 July, the pin carriers and VCR glands were welded into the warm
and cold flanges. They flanges passed the leak tests and were mounted into
the assembly jig. The pigtails and Vacuum cables were installed. There was
a minor problem installing the vacuum cables for row 8 and row 15 in the
warm flange; filing the edges of the connectors where they interfered at
the corner of the pin carriers solved this.

The weld samples were shipped to CERN on Wednesday 5 July 00.

Four boxes of pigtails arrived on Friday 7 July. There were 
(44) T47 50 ohm, 
(44) T48 25 ohm,  
(16) T49 
These will be inspected and tested this week. A roll of labels was
included with the cables.

The resistor freeze and dunk tests will end today. In the dunk tests, the
resistors were dunked 4700 times. In the dunk and freeze tests, the
resistors were frozen 36 times. There were no failures. 

The high surface temperature tests (100 deg) and the high power tests
(16W, 29W, 50W) will continue. So far, there are no failures.

Terry was back from LARG week where he presented the heater design. There
were no objections to the design and an acceptance of the design was
requested for the end of July.

CERN will be shipping the VCR Tee glands to us. We will inspect and
leakcheck them on arrival.
