Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 27 November, 2000. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: PB, Pof, AD, RL, TH, MLenc, RKK, MGF, ML *) Milestones - ft02 was cold leak tested again, this time with no problems. A leak had been found earlier in the interconnect between the LN2 dewar and test station which was allowing He to leak into the air and presumably entering the leak checker through the roughing pump outlet. That leak was repaired before these latest tests were performed. We will also look into the possibility of venting the leak checker pump outlet to the outside, thus further reducing the possibilty of He entering the leak check through the roughing pump. - 438 vacuum cables arrived today (27 Nov). - The final eight bellows arrived from BOA. Two of those had earlier been returned to BOA for repair, the other six are new. - The `final' TIS weld samples were sent to CERN on friday, 24 Nov. *) ML, MGF, PB, and RL will attend the Dec Larg week. Margret will present slides on electrial components and tests, both during assembly and at CERN. Paul will present slides on hardware components (flanges, etc), current production status, and weld tests, including the status of discussions with TIS. Michel will present slides on the projected production schedule, including an update of the pincarrier problems. Mark will provide the CERN travelers a list of heater-related questions to be addressed during Larg week. *) Greg and Aaron will produce a Fabrication Control Step document to be taken by the crew to Larg week. *) The QA/QC document should be updated before the end of the year, and the revised version turned over to Bonny to incorporate into one single document that can be placed on EDMS. *) For standard feedthrough modules, we settled on a critia of no fewer than two failed channels for a `passed' feedthrough. For HEC feedthroughs, however, with possibly no spare channels, we may not be able to afford any failed channels in a `passed' feedthrough. *) After asking us (via email communication with Roy) for input regarding the proposed use `special flexible' plumbing to attach to the feedthrough VCR glands, Albin Effernelli is now proposing that we provide and install that plumbing. Our initial response is that this request goes beyond our mandate. This will likely be discussed during LARG week. Agenda for next week: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - Milestones - plans for the week - pincarrier correspondences with BNL - AOB
