Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 11 June, 2001. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: PB, Pof, GV, AD, ASD, FH, MGF, RKK, ML *) Milestones - 04 Jun Finish final xtalk tests on ft06. Start final phred tests on ft06. Welded and dye-penetrant tested ft07. Start ambient pumping on ft07. Welded and dye-penetrant tested ft08. - 05 Jun Finish final phred tests on ft06. Ambient leak check ft07 - Leak found in SealRing to Ambient Flange weld; set aside for repair. Start ambient pumping on ft08. - 06 Jun ReWeld ft07. Warm leak checks on ft08. Start cooling ft08. - 07 Jun Ambient leak check ft07 again - ok this time. Cold tests done on ft08. - 08 Jun Start final xtalk tests on ft08. - 24 pincarriers were shipped to us from Glasseal on Friday 8 June; they should arrive at UVIC by the end of this week or early next week. - The remaining 236 vacuum cables are to be shipped to us today (11 June) from FCI. *) The 10^-7 torr-l/s leak discovered in SealRing to Ambient Flange weld of ft07 on 5 June was visually inspected with magnifying visors, but no defect could be found. It was agreed that SM should be "encouraged" to bill us for the extra trip for sealing the leak. *) ft07 will be put into the cold test station today (11 June) for cold tests to be done tomorrow. We anticipate finishing the last two (ft07 and ft08) of the three feedthroughs from the batch of 24 pincarriers received 15 May by Thursday this week (15 June). This would mean a total time of 23 days to complete the three feedthroughs, excluding the time required for the pincarrier cold cycle tests. *) One HEC and one SPECIAL feedthrough will be the next two feedthroughs to be built. *) Pof has written instructions for the cold cross talk analysis so that it can be done in his absence. *) Greg is working on summary reports to be generated by the Access database on completion of each feedthrough which will be included in the traveller sheet binders, and which will record the serial numbers of all components in the feedthrough. A similar summary report will also be made for the purpose of exporting and customs, which will include also the arrival times of each component. *) Pof will check into air freight to CERN for (probably four) feedthroughs. We expect to ship these feedthroughs before the end of summer. *) Plywood for ~25 more shipping crates has been delivered. Dave Smith is currently working on another batch of crates. *) The pedestal mockup has arrived from Alberta. Dave Smith will build a table to hold the pedestal mockup mounted to two of our prototype feedthroughs. Jan Soukup will be coming to UVIC from Alberta to use the mockup for testing vacuum plumbing configurations and installations. *) Margret reported that the HEC LV Warm cables will be shipped to CERN by Axon early in July. *) Michel reported that the ECC cryostat delivery schedule to CERN now appears to be firming up to be sometime in October. Agenda for next week: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - Milestones - ft06, ft07, ft08 postmortem - Chris Oram's comments from site visit - pigtail jumper order - Plans for the week - AOB
