Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 27 August, 2001. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, AD, ASD, GV, FH, ML, RKK, MGF, PB, JL *) Milestones - ft14 (our third Special) was cold tested last week *) We aim at shipping a batch of four feedthroughs to CERN by mid September, to be followed by the balance of our stock if all goes well with the initial shipment. Rob McPherson is to be kept informed of all shipping details, and copies of all the CERN reception paperwork (customs, etc) should be sent back to us in Victoria. Simon of King Brothers has been put in touch with Neil MacLean of UVIC Accounting (Insurance & Financial Systems) regarding the insurance for the shipment. UVIC insurance will cover the shipment with a K$50 deductible, but we should 'buy down' the deductible to a more tolerable level. *) Cleaning of the TRIUMF lab is still ongoing, but much progress has been made. *) Alisa is working with Guy Stanford of TRIUMF to have a properly designed ventilated area in which to conduct the dye penetrate tests. Alisa will also check with WCB for any other parameters we should be aware of when doing the dye penetrate tests. *) 24 pincarriers arrived today (27 Aug). We will probably build a HEC, a Special, and an FCAL feedthrough with these. *) John Lindner started working with us on Tuesday 21 August. He will be working initially on the electrical test equipment for the CERN feedthrough reception and weld tests. *) A tentative CERN manpower schedule for the feedthrough reception tests this fall is as follows (dates are approximate): - JL 1 Oct -> mid Dec - Pof 1 Oct -> 29 Oct - PB 1 Oct -> 10 Oct - AD 29 Oct -> 19 Nov - GV 19 Nov -> 10 Dec Pof will check with Connie (ATLAS secretariat) for a recipe to get John, Greg, and Aaron integrated into CERN. We will try to arrange for a CERN van for John. *) The protective covers for use on the feedthroughs after welding still require designing and building. *) Copies of the traveler sheets for each feedthrough will be included in their respective shipping crates. New traveler sheets need to be made for the reception leak and electrical tests, and for the after-weld electrical tests. Agenda for next week: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - Milestones - progress on CERN electrical test setup - progress on CERN vacuum test setup - progress on outer shipping crate - progress on dye penetrate test shed - Plans for the week - AOB
