Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 10 September, 2001. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, GV, FH, PB, JL *) Milestones - The cold tests for ft01 have been repeated after its repair for all channels, and passed. - Final tests (resistance and cross talk) for ft14 are finished, and passed. *) The pincarriers for ft15 (our last HEC for ECC) are to be welded tomorrow (11 Sep). The next two feedthroughs to be build will be an FCAL (ft16) and our last Special for ECC (ft17). *) The pincarrier cooler has developed a large leak. It is presently under repair, and hopfully will be functional by mid week. *) In a 6 September phone conversation, Tom Muller told me that he will have the next two pincarrier shipments (24 each) sent to UVIC. This is partly due to BNL's expected slowdown when much of their assembly crew will be sent to CERN. After testing the pincarriers, we will keep one batch of 24 as a buffer in case of further delivery delays. *) The pincarrier that showed a leak which is no longer reproducible by us should be cold cycled two more times and re-tested (as usual) and then cold cycled many more times before re-testing again. If it still passes, it should be set aside and used as a spare if our pincarrier inventory allows. If 'suspect' pincarriers ever are used in a feedthrough, they should be used in the warm flanges only. *) The vacuum test equipment for CERN still requires some further leak tests before being shipped. *) Euro-Phred (the micro-Ohmmeter multiplexer to be used at CERN) has been tested. Two channels were found to be shorted together, but this has now been repaired. The I/O cable to connect the laptop PC with Euro-Phred, the scanner and the fanout should be fully assemled by Wednesday 12 Sept (thanks to the electronics shop) so John will be able to fully test the CERN electronics test setup by Thursday. *) The outer shipping crate for our first shipment of four feedthroughs will be completed this week. Copies of the traveler sheets also need to be made, with blank forms for the electrical (both reception and installation) and vacuum (reception only) tests. *) BNL expects to finalize the pedestal filter box design this week. Bob Hackenburg is keeping us informed of the connection details for the heater power supply and temperature probes. *) Connie (ATLAS secretariat) is happy for Aaron, Greg, and John to use Roy's office as an address and phone number. She also said that there is little the ATLAS secretariat can do for new members before they have been assigned CERN id numbers, however Michel still suggests that they stop in at the ATLAS secretariat before going to the users' office. Agenda for next week: ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - Milestones - pincarrier cooler - status of outer ft shipping crate - status of CERN electrical test setup - status of CERN vacuum test setup - Plans for the week - AOB
