Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 01 October, 2001.

*) Milestones

	- The cold cycles for the two 7-row and one 8-row
	  'spare' pincarriers received 26 September have 
	  been finished.

*) The Vacuum and Electrical test equipment for use at CERN will
   be shipped out this week.

*) Final electrical tests on ft15 (our last HEC for ECC) will
   be finished this week, and cabling of ft16 (the ECC FCAL)
   will continue.

*) The pincarrier (S/N 5000 0291 271 0132) which showed a leak
   on early tests has now undergone five further cold cycles
   beyond the normal three, with no sign of the leak in any
   leak test conducted after each cycle.  It will be used in
   a warm flange if no other pincarrier is available.

*) While cabling ft16 last week, pins were bent in three different
   pincarriers, which resulted in one pin (in a 7-row pc) breaking 
   while attempting to straighten it, and another pin (in an
   8-row pc) developing a leak.  Both pincarriers have been
   machined out of the flange, leaving ample weld lip, and
   replaced with new pincarriers.

*) Our current stock of available 'good' pincarriers is:

	- three 7-row (includes the 'pseudo' leaker 
	               S/N 5000 0291 271 0132)
	- four 8-row

   Failed or broken pincarriers are:

	- three 7-row (one on which we broke a pin, and
	               two of which have gold plating on
	               a glass bead which need to be
	               returned to Glasseal)
	- one 8-row (developed a leak after bending a pin)

   Two of the good 7-row (not including S/N 5000 0291 271 0132)
   and two of the good 8-row will be used to weld the cold
   flange for ft17 (the last Special for ECC) later this
   week.

*) 24 pincarriers were shipped from Glasseal on Friday
   28 September.  We should probably receive them early
   by next week.

*) Pof, PB, JL, and ML will be at CERN for LARG week; pof
   will give a short presentation at the C&C General meeting
   at 13:30 on Monday, with emphasis on the lack of sufficient 
   pincarriers.  Other meetings of note are the Integration and 
   Installation meeting at 09:00 on Thursday, and the special 
   Filter Box meeting at 09:00 on Wednesday.
