Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 2 January, 2002. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, AD, FH, PB, RKK, MGF, ASD *) Milestones - ft23 was cold tested and passed. A ground short was encountered during the cross talk tests, but was easily burnt off. - ft24 was cabled and welded, and is now ready to be cold tested. - five flanges were welded, and lots more pincarriers are ready to be welded. - 48 pincarriers, 24 of each type, arrived today (2 Jan). *) ft24 will be our 25th feedthrough to be built. Since we have designated the Standard feedthrough ft20 a spare because it has a 5 x 10^-10 mbar-l/s leak under cold conditions, we still require one more Standard feedthrough to complete ECC. Since we don't have enough HEC or FCAL pigtails to complete any more HEC or FCAL feedthroughs, we will carry on building Standard and Special feedthroughs until the appropriate pigtails arrive. *) We still require the material certs for the three batches of pincarrier steel. Pof has asked Tom Muller for those. *) The feedthrough building crew is still trying out ideas for methods of protecting the pigtails during feedthrough construction and testing. These methods should be optimized over the next few feedthroughs. We should also keep in mind methods for protecting the pigtails during feedthrough installation. *) The revisions for the QA/QC and related documents are stil underway, and should be wrapped up in the near future. Mark is gathering all the most recent feedthrough related drawings to be placed on CDD by Roy. *) The next LARG week is 4-8 February. RKK and MGF stated that they might possibly attend at least part of it.
