CERN Feedthrough Reception Status Report

STATUS

Feedthroughs received at CERN: FT00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 			 
       10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21

The pigtails are bagged for: FT06, 09, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17 			     		     
(half-bagged), 19, 21

All FT's at CERN have been leak checked and electrically tested. All passed 
except for the following:

FT 10, 12, 15, 19 have damaged pigtails.
FT 13 has a small leak (10^-8) in the seal ring-warm flange weld.


ADDITIONAL ISSUES

1) When the FT crates were opened, there was often dirt on the FT. Mostly it 
was black soot in the folds of the bellows or a white deposit near the cuff 
ring. I do not believe this is problematice, especially considering the 
cleanliness of the rest of bldg 180.

2) When a FT crate was first opened, we would make a series of checks. These 
checks were identical with each FT but there is nowhere on the FT CERN 
Reception Form to note these checks. I suggest including some check boxes 
with the following:
	-No visible damage to FT
	-Foam in bellows bracing
	-Two screws in each pincarrier cover
	-Positive pressure in bag
	-Dessicant present
	-No damage to mounting brackets (ie. no buckling)
