Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 14 January, 2002. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, GV, FH, PB, ML *) Milestones - pincarriers continue to be cycled, at least two months backlog remain to be cycled and tested. - ft25 was welded and cold cycled; the cold electrical tests failed with an "opposite channel" short between channels 49 and 50 in slot 11. The previous feedthrough, ft24, also had failed in a similar manner. ft25 will be left in the cold test station and cold cycled and cirris tested several times to check how reproducible the failure is, and whether or not any further failures occur. - Two warm and two cold flanges were welded, and a replacement pincarrier was welded into another cold flange to replace the pincarrier that had gold in one of the glass beads. We currently have in hand a stock of five pair of flanges. *) ft24, which failed the cold electrical test with an "opposite channel" short between channels 13 and 14 of slot 4, was opened after several days of carefully grinding the seal-ring/warm-flange and cuff-ring/cold-flange welds by PB with a dremmel. The vacuum cables in slots 4A and 4B will both be replaced, even though it is likely from the test results that 4A is the culprit. *) Greg has announced that he has been offered (and has accepted) a permanent position in the physics machine shop at the University of Toronto. Greg will be wrapping up his work with us by the end of January. Agenda for next week ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ - Milestones - ft25 cold cycling tests - plans for further cold test monitoring of shorts during cool down - plans for the week - AOB
