Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 28 January, 2002. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, GV, FH, PB, RKK, ML, AD, ASD *) Milestones - The summary web pages (cable types and component serial numbers of all feedthroughs) has been finished by Greg, and can be reached by following the links: http://particle.phys.uvic.ca/~web-atlas/atlas/feedthroughs/ => production status => ftxx => A summary of ... here (at bottom of page) ---- However, the webserver on hepserv from which this page is run is misbehaving, and has been disabled until Jan returns from Chicago and fixes the problems. Hopefully it will be up and running next week. - ft24 was cold tested again after being dismantled for the replacement of two vacuum cables (probably only one cable was defective). This time it passed... ft24 was kept cold for a total of 10 hours (which is longer than usual) and tested for continuity and shorts at the end of that period. Those tests also passed. - ft25 was dismantled for the replacement of two vacuum cables (again, probably only one cable was defective) and will be re-welded this morning (28 Jan) along with one warm and one cold flange. - ft26 was welded last week along with two warm and two cold flanges. *) Wendy Wiggins has joined the feedthrough team as a co-op work term. She will start the beginning of February and continue through the end of August. *) Nine vacuum cables with known "opposite channel short" defects were tested at 1000 Volts, while plugged into a glasseal pincarrier. Only three of the nine cables failed this test, so this appears not to be a reasonable test to try to flag potentially bad vacuum cables. Considering also the possible risk of damage resulting from the 1000 Volt test which might occur at a rate higher than the fault we're trying to find, we will opt not to perform this, or any other, further test on any vacuum cables. *) 48 pincarriers (24 of each type) arrived on Tuesday 29 January. We now have sufficient numbers of pincarriers for the completion of all 55 feedthroughs we intend to build, provided we don't encounter too many pincarrier failures. 37 7-row and 39 8-row pincarriers remain to be delivered. *) 202 pigtails (all T47 and T48) arrived on Thursday 31 January. There are only 250 pigtails still to come, however we still do not have the necessary pigtails to build any more HEC or FCAL feedthroughs. *) All relevant drawings have now been placed on CDD by Roy, and the drawing numbers updated in the QA/QC document. *) Roy has agreed to grow a beard and give the LARG week C&C General talk for pof next week.
