Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 11 March, 2002. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: ML, RK, AD, AAD, WW, PB Milestones: - Cold test of FT 30. While testing FT 30, a short to ground was found, but was burned off with a non-measurable amount of current. Ft 30 passed all mechanical and electrical tests. Completed all warm electrical tests. - Welded FT 31 and FT 32. - Welded eight flanges, Warm and Cold 041 to 044. We now have a cushion of 12 pairs of flanges. - Cooled down FT 31. It passed all cold tests. It was noted that the "Drop n Tell" impact indicators mounted inside the four pack crate should not straddle two feedthroughs. Report from CERN by Paul Pof I talked with Pierre today regarding the ASSO. He wants only a five minute presentation on 15 April; there's no need for either of us to come early. He will email to you what he wants covered in the five minute presentation (organization, qa/qc, schedule, etc). The second batch of four ft's (20,26,27,28) arrived today, along with the (25) bolt rings, o-rings, and rf gaskets.(and 25 impact covers) The ECC is still expected Friday, or next Monday at the latest. Much of the tooling is also being delivered now. We have had a very frustrating time trying to do our reception tests. The power has failed at least once every day we have been here, loosing vacuum each time. Consequently no leak tests have been done and only 1 1/2 electrical tests are done. The power failures are not caused by us, but knock out the power in the ft shop and a number of other rooms, the endcap clean room included. I have been in touch with the CERN staff who look after such things, and have made it clear how critical it is for us to have uninterupted power. They have had two or three people working on it, with recording devices trying to isolate the fault. In the meantime, we're stuck in the mud.
