Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 25 March, 2002. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, FH, PB, AD, WW, RKK *) Milestones: - ft32 xtalk and resistance final tests finished - ft33 xtalk final tests done - ft34 was cabled, welded, and cold tested - cabling of ft35 has started - three more flanges were welded - 23 T50 pigtails arrived on 19 March; we now have enough pigtails to build the next (ft36) HEC feedthrough. The pigtails for the second FCAL are probably still at least a month away. - testing of pincarriers continues; roughly two more months to finish all pc's including spares. - ECC arrived at CERN on Wednesday 20 March! *) Storage space at CERN for feedthroughs is becoming scarce, so we will not ship any further ft's to CERN (except for the next HEC and FCAL) until most or all of the ECC ft's are installed. In the meantime, we will pack the ft's still at UVIC in shipping crates (usually in sets of four) and store them in the TRIUMF lab (021). *) Most of the defective vacuum cables (opposite channel shorts inside the connector) have been from the batch of 438 cables that arrived on 27 November 2000. Approximately half of those cables have been used so far, but no cables from that batch have been used since the problems encountered with ft24 and ft25 (both feedthroughs had to be opened to replace defective vacuum cables). After the HEC ft36 is built, the next several Standard and Special feedthroughs will be built exclusively with vacuum cables from the 27 November batch. This strategy will hopefully minimize the number of feedthroughs which need to be cut open for replacement of defective vacuum cables (we'd rather open one feedthrough to replace two bad vacuum cables than open two feedthroughs to replace one bad vacuum cable in each...). PB should stock up on dremel bits.
