Milestones for the week of July 2-5 (provided by Aaron) - Feedthrough 51 was vacuum cabled and passed all pre-weld tests. It was welded and dye-penetrant tested and passed. - crosstalk tests were completed on the 2.5m cables for feedthrough 50. - the faulty 7-row pin carrier was removed from warm flange and a new pin carrier was welded into the flange - The plywood for our remaining crates arrived on friday afternoon and Dave is making our HEC crates now. - 2 Heater plates, 6 packages of nylon washers, and one 1/16" and one 3/32" ball drivers were sent to CERN - I was in contact with purchasing last week, and they are having a difficult time getting PO's produced because of a lack of staffing. Some orders we had pending were pushed through last week. - FT's 37, 39, 40, and 41 were crated Report from pof at CERN: There was damage to the ECC cryostat during the recent cold tests, with several plastic standoffs separating the inner and outer vessels breaking off. A decision whether or not to open (separate the warm and cold vessels) and repair is expected by midweek, but it will almost certainly require opening. Assuming the ECC is opened, the "optimistic" estimates for feedthrough installation (originally scheduled to start last week) are 1 October (Aboud) or 1 November (Pierre). In the meantime, Aboud would like to proceed with cutting the funnels on all feedthroughs. This should occupy Fiona (assisting) for several weeks. Fiona will also be involved with the warm cable installation on the barrel (at BNL's invitation) and she could also be involved with the HEC stacking if time permits.
