Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 16 September, 2002. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, PB, AD, FH, ML, ASD *) Milestones: - ft54 (the second FCAL) was cabled. - ft52 (a Standard) and ft54 were welded. *) ft54 is to be cold tested this week. *) The Standard feedthrough ft53 is the only remaining feedthrough to be built. We are still short two T48 pigtail cables for that feedthrough. There has been no response from Orsay regarding when we might expect them. *) Michel reported on recent emails regarding the ECC repairs: - It has been agreed to make a "complete" repair of ECC. This presumably means that the inner vessel will be fully removed, allowing newly designed stoppers to be installed. This work is "expected" to be completed by the beginning of December, at which time feedthrough installation can commence. Realistic estimates are that feedthrough installation probably won't start until the new year... - A desicion has been made *not* to cold test ECC after reassembly with the new stoppers. This decision brought some dissent from the Canadian members present at the LARG meetings, but Pierre Pailler and others believe that the new design is sufficiently robust to forgo a new cold test. - Delivery of ECA is expected March 03. ECA will be cold tested at SIMIC, but that cold test will be done *after* installation of the feedthroughs in ECC, too late to correct any problems found with the new stopper design without significant pain (ie, removal of the feedthroughs). - With all the delays coming from the endcap cryostats, installation of the feedthroughs, warm cable installation, and final testing are now expected to be critical path items. *) UVIC B&G have completed installing new overhead lights in that part of the ft lab that is to be turned into a cleanroom.
