Minutes of feedthrough meeting of 30 September, 2002. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Present: Pof, PB, FH, AD, ML *) Milestones: - ft54 final resistance tests were completed, so it is now finished. Dave Smith will have its shipping 'coffin' completed this week. - ft52 has been cold tested, and the final electrical tests are done. It will be ready to crate once the final paperwork is completed. *) There is a bug in the feedthrough database which is preventing us from making the "final report" for ft52 and ft54. Fiona is working on a solution... *) We have only one feedthrough (ft53, a Standard) left to build. We are still waiting for some T48 pigtails to arrive from Orsay to build this last feedthrough. Since there were some anomalies in the electrical tests done at Axon for those pigtails, we will subject those pigtails to more testing than normal. Full 64x64 cross talk plus precision resistance measurements will be added to the usual set of tests. *) Pof and Michel are communicating with Claude Eder of Orsay regarding the question of whether the flange heater power supplies are floating or grounded, and if grounded, then how do we identify which wire from the power supply is hot and which is at ground. We need to resolve this question before we can complete the "Y" jumpers which connect the heaters to the filter box, since the hot wire (if the power supply is grounded) must be wired to the fuse side of the resistors. *) Regarding BNL's long term plans for repair readiness, Bob Hackenburg responded to pof's email with the following reply: The only "plan" we have is to preserve everything in a safe place, so that we can do repairs if the need arises. *) Twelve feedthroughs are to be shipped to Geneva on Friday 4 October, to arrive while pof and Fiona are present at CERN.
