News from CERN, 27 January 2003 *) ECA is scheduled to ship from SIMIC on 17 April. *) Since ORSAY has not provided us with information regarding the hot/ground wires of the ambient flange heater power, it has been agreed that we simply make the choice ourselves and let any adjustments be made at the power supply to ensure that the hot wire goes to the fuse side of the resistors. *) We hope to start warm cabling tomorrow, 28 January. *) Aboud would like to do an additional visual check of the welds inside the cold boxes to ensure full penetration and good alignment of the welds. This operation has a non negligible chance of damaging wires, so the electrical tests should not be done until afterward. The camera to do these visual checks has not yet been purchased, so there will be some delay in starting the electrical tests. Since time is already extremely tight to finish the electrical tests before the scheduled pressure test on 10 February (or soon after) it is becoming increasingly likely that we will have to return to CERN in March to complete the electrical tests. Allain Gonidec and Patrick Fassnacht have been made aware of the situation and will press for quick acquisition of a suitable camera.
