Feedthrough Meeting 17/12/97 present: P. Birney, M. Fincke-Keeler, T. Hodges, R. Keeler, M. Lefebvre, P. Poffenberger - News from the LAr week / design Terry and Roy presented the welding test results at the feedthrough meeting. They were very well received. Terry reported that the final design for the pin carrier had been agreed upon. After discussion concerning the installation of the feedthroughs on the cryostat, 9 cm of extra radial space for automatic welding were requested by Pierre Pailler for the endcap cryostat. The design of the flanges needs to be finalized. Terry to look into slightly thicker flanges: 23 mm -> 28 mm for the warm flange, and 37 mm for the cold flange. - Vacuum Cables Margret reported on the stipline order which contains strips to produce 25 full assemblies: 20 using 1on Cu (35 mm) and 5 using 2 on Cu (70 mm). The masks are the signal vacuum cable masks with 0.200 mm signal trace width and 0.400 mm return trace width. The space between return traces is 0.400 mm. The centre kapton thickness is 50 mm (2 thou). These strips are ordered from Strataflex. Then the crimping is to be done by AMP. Then Strataflex to do the soldering. The plan is for Ernie to develop a connector, and for strataflex to produce some connectors as well (these still have to be specified to strataflex). The cables testbox should be ordered in January. For transient tests, it was mentioned that one would need to produce a hair crack to experiment with the test setup. Michel mentioned that test pulse cards could be produced in Orsay for our use. Needs to be followed up. - Leak Test Setup and Jig Status All parts for the leak test setup are here. Paul to start assembly tomorrow. Jig drawings done. The design should be general enough to allow various assembly options. Materials needed for the jig should be ordered as soon as possible. - Feedthrough Prototype Schedule Michel reported on the feedthrough prototype schedule. It was also noted at the last LAr week that note every details of the project need to be sorted out for the Production Readiness Review. Margret to look into dummy cables for the model and for prototypes. - Refrigerator Alisa Humphrey to arrive on Jan 5th 1998. Paul and Richard to flesh out the design principle. PC and autocad to be ordered. - ATLAS meetings and other important dates - Jan 26 - Jan 30 : LARG week - Feb 15 - Feb 21 : Lake Louise Winter Institute - Mar 02 - Mar 06 : ATLAS week - Mar 09 - Mar 13 : LARG week - Mar 29 - Apr 04 : ATLAS Physics workshop, Grenoble - May 04 - May 10 : LARG week - Jun 08 - Jun 12 : ATLAS week - Jul 06 - Jul 10 : LARG week - Jul 23 - Jul 29 : ICHEP98 "Rochester Conference", TRIUMF - Sep 04 - Sep 18 : ATLAS week - Sep 21 - Sep 26 : LARG week - Nov 12 - Nov 18 : LARG week - Nov 16 - Nov 20 : ATLAS week
