Minutes of the feedthrough meeting of July 12, 1999. Present: PP,TH,RL,RM,PB,GV,MF,RK,AD 1. Paul B. presented further details of the time line leading up the series production of the FT's. Further work to be done: - Time line for warm and cold flange assembly - (MF) time line for electronics testing equipment and testing cables. We identified that the cuff and seal ring drawings are urgent as 5 of these parts are needed by BOA soon. 2. Paul B. presented an assembly flow diagram for the FT assembly. We are all encouraged to study this plan and makes suggestion to Paul. A time line for the FT assembly is the next priority. 3. Paul P. presented a plan on how to set up the electrical test equipment and a draft of what micro-D connectors we need. - Paul P. will add a HEC section to his plan. Both signal and low voltage. - Fan out will probably not work with TDR. Rethink that or use TV switches. - MF, PP & PB condensation in connectrs during cold tests????? - MF email Don about Cirrus tester cards. - MF is to go over plan with Paul. - Rob is to check if existing pigtails can be used as interface cables to test equipment. Cross talk and resistance. 4. Drawings were discussed by Roy. Mark is busy with TNF so Roy is working on the FT. Greg will help him. Terry will check steel order has gone through. BOA RFQ - $725US each for 5 bellows NOTE: they owe us some money. nonbinding quote on 60 - 575$US each. - Priorities are: Interace drawing, bellows assembly drawing, seal & cuff rings. 5. Terry went over the heat leak tests that he wrote up. It was agreed to to do one more test with Rorcell (SP??) and one without. The solid polyethelene were felt to pack too tightly. Hollow beads would give more insulation - Terry will look at this. We need to hold warm flange at a more constant temperature. Pof and Paul B will look at the specs of the resistors we are using. 6. Rob M. showed that multipulsing was able to find ground problem with old vacuum cable. MF and Rob are looking for a poor new cable to see what the sensistivity is. The one new cable tested showed no effect.
