Minutes of the FT meeting of September 20, 1999 Present: TH,RL,ML,PP,GV,MF,RK,PB 1. Drawings Mark reported: - waiting for a decision on the exact shape of the vacuum cables (BERG or STC). This affects the placement of the Rohacell. - sequence drawing is progressing. Mark is working on a TRIUMF site problem this week and then will be off for two weeks of vacation. We should check drawings carefully over the next three weeks. There was discussion that we need labels on the flanges so that cables will be plugged in correctly. This will be handled in house. 2. TIS Paul B reported that he has welding samples that have been done by Specific Engineering. They have been dye penetrant tested. Michel has arranged that these be tested in the Mainz purity monitor. Samples are being shipped to mainz on 22/9/99. Terry has offered TIS a Funnel assembly with one Glasseal pin carrier to do a burst test. We need to know eaxactly what they want. There has been no reply yet from TIS. 3. Vacuum cables MF The quotes are in. Margret made up questioins for BERG. For 11k$US we can have 10 test cables. We should go with it. However before letting the PO we should get answers to our questions. BERG is working on them. 4. Maching RFQ Roy reported that Michel has found some SS remelt samples and is sending them to Victoria. He has written an RFQ for the full maching job plus some extra tubes for Orsay. RFQ will go out Oct. 1, replies back by Oct 22. The order will go out November 1, 1999. 5. Production plan Paul P. is looking at a generic moth during production to see what the schedule, work load and equipment. Margret is looking at the storage and inventory implications. Paul Birney is going to make up some milestones for the next several months. 6. The vacuum ports for the feedthroughs (glands) are still an unknown size. Pierre has asked to have until November to decide. Paul B will work around this problem with some temporary fixes. 7. Mike Rensing set up a vi for the scanner/multiplexor system. A cross talk measurement to nearest neighbours now takes 15 minutes fully automated. Paul P. showed some nice histograms that showed how ground faults can be clearly identified. He will show this in Marseille. 8. Margret will ask Don Makowieki for more adaptor boards for the cable tester. 9. Terry is working on the thermal test writeup. He aims to have a writeup in 1 week. 10. Paul P. and Terry aim to have a draft quality plan in 2 weeks. 11. Agenda for September 27, 1999 1.Low voltage tests preparations. Plan for thermal tests with low voltage cables. Plan for tests involving thermal strap for heater resistor. 2.Terry will talk about thermal test writeup. 3. Plans for testing pigtails that have arrived so far. 4. Quality plan progress report.
