Margret
Margret reported that she produced some Geant events and is now exploring
Naoko's conversion package that should transform the Geant Ntuple into
an Ntuple of testbeam-Ntuple format. This conversion step seems to
have a few hiccups still and Margret is trying to track down where
the problems are and how it works. Richard suggested that Margret
get together with Tayfun, who has made sub-Ntuples from our standard
testbeam Ntuples.
Tamara
started to apply HV corrections to her pion analysis. The INTAS report
discusses HV problems in the second layer of the central module.
The INTAS report contains a plot of (E2mid/E2out) vs.
(E1-E3)/(E1+E3), where these energies are in the HEC. This plot shows an asymmetry which results from
the HV problem.
Tamara looked at this asymmetry and she also plotted
(E2mid-E2outer)/(E2mid+E2outer) vs.(E1-E3)/(E1+E3).
So far, she isn't able to reproduce this asymmetry.
[It now looks like the asymmetry may not be visible for impact point I since not enough energy is
located in the outer HE modules]
Tayfun
reported that he almost finished some code to be used for
investigating the Ntuple with the run information he produced.
Next on his to-do list is to read the NIM paper and start working
on corrections to his selected data set.
Richard
pointed out that Tamara and Tayfun should go to the WRNPPC at Lake Louise.
The abstracts are due very soon, so Tamara and Tayfun should prepare an
outline for a 10 minute talk (roughly 5 slides) within the next 2 weeks.
