Minutes of the UVic Testbeam meeting held Friday, November 19, 2004

Michel reported that LAr week is coming to an end. Kai and Rolf are working their way into the jet reconstruction group. He suggested that the format of our weekly meetings may have to change in the future as our group gets involved in more activities.

Tamara reported that she found a bug in her software that was causing the hadronic weights to be set to one.  This bug fix solved the problem of the Hadronic resolution asymtotically moving to the electromagneteic with increasing energy. A talk was given by Rob at the LAr week that summarized her results.

Ian and Margret have succeeded in installing the 9.0.1 release and have built the neccesary packages to run the incomplete 2004 test beam simulation under athena as of Friday morning. They attended a LAr Simulation CERN phone meeting which gave them some pointers to example packages and documentation that they will find useful for bringing their work on the 2002 TB simulation into athena. Michel requested that we look into what these athena TB Simulations put into the 'pool'.

Warren told us that support for bbftp will be ending at CERN for security reasons. CERN will start supporting gridftp. Ian noted that the grid group here could offer help with setting it up.
