Minutes of the UVic Testbeam meeting held Friday, October 1, 2004

Richard reported that Pavol gave a talk in which he pointed to Margaret taking over responsibilities for LArG4TB package. This is significant progress, well done Margret.

Warren gave us a progress report.

Ashok in consultation with Randy has allocated 1 TB of disk space for storing the data from this summers test beam. The data will all reside on disk (not the HSM tape system) and will not be backed up (can be copied from CERN in the event of failure). He reported that at run time he has been experiencing unresolved symbols when running the locally compiled monitoring code. These are the result of the distribution kits not being exactly the same as those at CERN. He will be giving feedback to the kit producers.

Tayfun has had no word from the Grenoble people regarding the run database. He continues to work on his thesis.

Tamara has begun writing her thesis. She is continuing to write software for the beam energy independent weights. Suitable functional forms for the cluster density weights are being investigated.
Ian has encountered some problems with compiling the Geant 4 code for LArG4 locally. He has sorted out what particular set of tags are needed to compile locally and is working to do so.
