Minutes of the UVic Testbeam meeting held Friday, October 8,
2004
(present: TH, RK, IG, AAgrewal, AAstbury, WS, PP, TI, Rolf
Seuster)
Ashok can compile and run Rob's
monitoring code with no problems. He plans on reporting any more
problems he encounters with the distribution kit to the kit makers and
copying the email to Rob. He warned that there is impending problems
with SLAC deciding to go with Redhat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) and CERN
going with Scientific Linux (RHEL recompiled from source). Richard
pointed out that we will have to maintain the fate machines with some
kind of a mix of operating systems so that we can satisfy everyones
needs.
Tayfun showed us his new run
database which has been created at Grenoble
(link here). He has
succeeded in inserting several runs by hand. He will be investigating
with Rob how do dump the data contained in the eLogBook into the
database.
Warren gave us a progress
report.
Tamara is using cluster density weights
without fixing a parameter. This seems to lead to improvements to the linearity
of response published in the NIM paper.
Ian has successfully compiled
the code submitted by Pavol and others for the Testbeam G4. The code
runs outputs events a then dies of a segfault at the very end of
execution. He is current searching for the problem.
Rolf has been setting up his
machine and has already downloaded the athena test release. He expects
it to be working in the near future.
Margret has returned from her
month at CERN and is working on recovering from a cold/jet lag. Margret
reports that once the CERN G4 code is operational we will need to
repeat much of the code cleanup.
