Minutes of the UVic Testbeam meeting held Friday, October 15,
2004
(present: ML,TH, RK, IG, AAgrewal, AAstbury, WS, PP, TI, RS)
Ashok has fixed the problem he
was having with running with running Rob's monitoring code under
Warren's directory by correcting the LD_LIBRARY_PATH. He noted that the
monitoring code runs about twice as fast here as it does at CERN. There
is still some access of databases and configuration files at CERN which
is slowing down running.
Warren is now running the
monitoring code with version 8.8.0. He is now getting back to analysis
code.
Rolf has succeeded in running
test programs here and at cern. While compiling here he is having
problems locating the standard C++ libraries (he will speak with Ashok
about it). He also looked into the ASK (Athena Startup Kit) with little
success.
Tayfun is going to work on
inputing a text file dump of the eLogBook into the Grenoble Run
database via a Perl script. Ian as offered to help him with it. He will
not be able to make it to next weeks meeting because he is meeting with
the President of the university.
Michel suggested that next
weeks meeting should be focused on the details of the 2004 test beam.
We could talk about geometry, pulse shapes and look at some NTuples.
Richard agreed that this was a good idea. Michel also wondered if it
was necessary for us to move to each new release as it is coming out
because this seems to be a rather labor intensive process.
Tamara has produced several
plots that are ready to go into her thesis. She continues her work
towards a global fit (over all beam energies) for the hadronic density
dependent weights.
