Subject: Minutes Hec software meeting


Minutes of the meeting of May 8, 2001 , Victoria.
Present CJO, ML, MF-K,RKK,RJS,DA,MLo,MW

1. 10:00-12:00 Monika gave us an extensive review of the level 2 and 3
trigger system.

2. 12:00-1:00 Lunch at University Club.

3. Discussed the plans for the Nov/dec 2001 technical run. Prototype-final
ATLAS electronics will be installed and checked out.

4. Combined EMEC and HEC test beam summer 2002. Goal is to develop an OO
program to read the data tapes and analyze the data. This run will have
the important physics interest of including the final calorimeter
arrangement.

5. Summer 2001 testbeam can be used to familiarize ourselves with the
existing apparatus and existing fortran analysis program - hec-adc written
by Michel.
   - Margret is starting to look at hec-adc in order to understand the
features.
   - Sergie Chekulaev will work with ML in July to learn operational side
of hec-adc for data monitoring during beam tests. Sergie will take
responsibility for this during the Aug-sept. run.
   - Naoko (Michel & Randy) will develop and EPIO - OO format converter as
the first step in creating OO-hec-adc.

6. Agree to meet on May 23 at TRIUMF. Monika agrees to try to set up
ATHENA & LARG software tutorials on May 22 (still not certain).
