HEC rotator, assembly table and T6 (main HEC support and insertion tool)
May 2002

Pictures sent by Roy of the hadronic endcap calorimeter rotator and assembly table during the mating test with T6, the main tool for the insertion of each HEC wheel into its endcap cryostat.

"It's a been a great week for progress in B180. T6 (affectionately known as the 'green machine'), the main support and insertion tool, has been bolted to the floor in front of where the cryostat will eventually sit. The rotated AssemblyTable/Rotator was moved forward to mate with T6. The great news is that there were NO problems!"
"We are currently fastening the Dummy Rail Plates to T6, and will then release these plates from the Rotator, and slide the Rotator away, leaving the imaginary wheel, plus plates, supported on T6. Before we can do this, the guide rails for the air pads will be fastened to the floor."

There is also a movie clip where you will see Roy in action!
