A few pictures of the ATLAS pit on 14 March 2003, provided by Roy Langstaff.  


A view of the ATLAS cavern taken from one tunnel entrance, looking across to the other tunnel entrance.
The final layer of the 2 metre thick side walls of the cavern have just been poured up to joint of the cavern roof (the roof was poured first). One can see a worker at this interface level. The picture was taken from the beam tunnel level. Note that the cavern floor is 5 metres thick!
