Pictures of the Endcap Cryostat C just before the EMEC insertion, provided by Roy Langstaff.  


Installation of the insertion device extension arms. The process is slow, and moves in 30 cm steps.
Looking up at the rear face of the EMEC wheel.
Front face of the EMEC wheel is approximately 10 cm in front of the cold vessel flange.
The EMEC wheel is 20 cm inside of the cold vessel at this point. There is an average of 2 cm clearance between the outside of the wheel and the aluminum pigtail protection plates.
