HEC2 in ECC

Pictures of the Endcap Cryostat C with the second HEC wheel inserted in it, 22 October 2003. Provided by Roy Langstaff, who also provided the following comments:
"I'm pleased to tell you that the HEC2 Wheel is now safely inside the Cryostat. This was achieved at 16:00 this afternoon with the help of Juergen and the LAL Insertion Team; Christian, Jacques, and Manu. The procedure was flawless, and brings to end the first half of the HEC saga. The survey of the HEC2 Wheel is scheduled for tomorrow. All indications suggest the wheel is within one millimetre of its desired location."

This image was made from the upper right-hand location as the HEC2 Wheel approaches the Cryostat. One can see the rear face of the HEC1 Wheel, complete with its protective screens in place.

While Roy monitors the permaglide performance inside the Cryostat, with the aid of a mirror and flashlight, Christian is above, checking the 'Top Key' alignment.
