"Dear Colleagues,
I am happy to inform you that the LAr Barrel Calorimeter was successfully transported to Point-1 and installed in UX-15 during the course of the last 10 days.
The only observed problem was due to a problem of the special trailer when leaving Bdg. 180, causing for a short moment accelerations that slightly exceeded the values that have been specified for this transport. As a result both EM Wheels moved longitudinally inside the Cryostat - one ca. 0.2 mm and the other ca. 0.5 mm. Starting next week the LAr community will have a close look to the EM detectors to find out if there is any internal damage.
Entering SX-1 and unloading the LAr cryostat went very smoothly as well as the lowering into UX-15. Difficult moments have been when the Cryostat was lifted out of its transport cradle and when being inserted into the Tile's lower half. However, there was nothing damaged neither on the Cryostat nor on the Tile.
The Cryostat is meanwhile aligned relative to the Tile axis and its full load was applied to its final supports. The conjoint assembly proved to be stable and an immediate survey delivered excellent alignment results.
I would like to congratulate and express my sincere thanks to all people that contributed to this important achievement - in equal measure to all those who have been involved so heavily in the very last time as well as to all those who have contributed over the last years to the planning."
