Subject: Re: summary of the high power laser diode module(s) we're looking for (fwd)

Hi Cetin,

This is perfect! Lorraine, could you draw up a purchase order for:

2 of the 400 mW, 450 nm lasers (TECBL-400G-450-A) below
2 of the 350 mW, 670 nm lasers (TECBL-350G-670-A) below (TECBL? or TECRL?)
1 of the 220 mW, 638 nm lasers (TECBL-220G-638-A) below (TECBL? or TECRL?)
1 of the 350 mW, 808 nm lasers (I think that is what is meant --
TECBL-350G-808-A, which again might possibly actually be TECRL) below

when you get a chance?

Total = $9100 (+ shipping & perhaps tax) I think (Lorraine, please put on CSA grant funds -- thanks).

We would like fiber coupling -- to an SMA ended multimode custom fiber from Ocean Optics (drawing located at
http://projectaltair.org/HyperNews/get/AUX/2013/01/11/17.45-58877-ZDF-13061--Rev-05.pdf if you are interested in that now -- the lasers will go on the split ends) which we will physically provide to you for fitting (this fiber could be permanently affixed with e.g. epoxy if you think that this would help ensure the permanent stability of the alignment, with hopefully at least a little bit of resistance to bumps and knocks).

And, as you say, analog modulation via a voltage input -- and additionally TTL digital modulation, via a separate voltage input -- on each module if possible.

We are very interested in the combination module, but we'd like to hold off for right now on purchasing that, since we'd like to use the above individual modules in our next payload which we'd like to fly this spring, and we're interested getting and using the combination module for flights this fall and at the end of this year.

Cetin -- a couple questions from my colleagues: 1) if it is feasible to provide the modules without cases, we could potentially package them right into our heatsink, which could be a significant savings in volume and weight. Could we get a drawing of the modules without cases? 2) Is the green (520 nm) module really only 45 mW -- is it possible to get a green module (either 520 or 532 nm) any higher power
than that?

Thank you all so much!!!!!
justin
