Hi,
Here are the minutes of our meeting yesterday --- please just reply with (or let me know) any corrections -- thanks!:
Phoning in: Karun Thanjavur (UVic), Max Fagin (Dartmouth & Harvard), Yorke Brown (Dartmouth & Harvard), Cordell Grant (Toronto SFL)
The new laser modules should be ready next week -- they are presently being fabricated at World Star in Toronto. World Star will very hopefully get them to Victoria by the end of next week, and then Karun and I will take them down to Baltimore, and then get them up to Dartmouth (the latter either by taking or sending) the week after. Karun, together with Spencer, is working on the rough near-field goniometric calibration checks here at UVic, as well as (with thanks to Max for initial drawings) designing the portable box for pre- and post-flight calibration. Karun and I will pick up the Hamamatsu boards that were sent by Peter to Baltimore, as well as the NIST-calibrated photodiode, for the portable box when we are down in the U.S. And other things (flight control board, power supply, etc) are progressing well at Dartmouth -- they should be ready to fly when the lasers arrive there.
Cordell is back home and is moving forward with the nanosat design -- e.g. with the CAD modeling and the power supply. Please, as always! -- post comments on the draft ICD as well as the present CAD drawings.
On computing/website, things appear stable -- please just either post a note or let me know if any fixes or changes are needed.
On upcoming grant applications, I am very slowly progressing with writing the DND-NSERC grant application (when not swamped with questions from my thermodynamics students -- very fortunately classes are ending for the semester next week). I'll be interfacing with several of you regarding text contributions in the upcoming weeks, before we send it around more widely.
In other business, we should still submit abstracts to the AMOS conference on Maui (Sep. 10-13), abstracts due April 15.
That's all I remember. Please send things I forgot. Next meeting on Thurs., Apr. 11, at the regular 11:00 Eastern time.
cheers, thanks all!
