CRISLER TRAVERSE DAY 8

Camp 7 [522 Kb]

The final day of our Crisler Traverse started out dry, but didn't stay that way for long. It started to rain soon after we broke camp and hit the trail, first as a heavy mist, then as a steady drizzle. Fortunately, the trail was easy, dropping 1300 meters over a distance of 22 kilometers. We stopped for a short break at Three Lakes campsite, about midway along the trail, and reached the North Fork Quinault Road in the afternoon. The ranger station, where I had left the VW, was another kilometer to the north, so I jettisoned my pack and walked the remaining distance to retrieve the car. We crammed the three of us and all our gear into the beetle, then headed back north to Port Angeles and the Coho, dropping off our hiking companion at his car along the way.
