Canada Snowbirds [416 Kb]

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds came to Victoria on Sunday
August 6, 2006 as part of Oak Bay's centennial celebrations.
Saanich is also celebrating its centennial year, but apparently doesn't
have connections in high enough places to pull in the Snowbirds.
Those of us from Saanich were however kindly allowed to watch.
The show was centred at Willows Beach, a favourite teen hangout in Oak Bay.
We walked from home and watched the show from Cattle Point,
on the north side of Willows.
I left my camera at home, confident that I could get pictures
from both Margret and Mark who would also be watching the show,
although Mark's camera batteries inconveniently went dead after just a few shots.
A couple of the pictures shown here were taken on Friday two days earlier
when the Snowbirds arrived over the noon hour for a warmup and impromptu show.
