A Welding test of the endcap feedthrough funnel (stainless steel tube, AISI 304L) on the endcap cryostat mock-up in B180 was performed at CERN in February 2002. Following Steve Kane's memo ( pdf ), the welding test was successful and astro-arc parameters have been defined for the endcap feedthrough application (start current should be 80Amp in the memo). The qualification of the feedthrough welding procedure on the barrel cryostat is covering the endcap configuration as well (0.7x2.77=1.94mm < 2.0mm > 3.05=1.1x2.77).
