Kandersteg [84 Kb]

Kandersteg is a small town in the Bern Alps situated in the
Kander Valley just below
Oeschinensee,
which we had visited in early autumn the previous year.
We returned to Kandersteg on February 2, 2003 for a
rösti lunch followed by a short walk in the snow.
Much of the trail we followed in the direction of Oeschinensee
was used by skiers, which we dodged along the way.
The mountains lying above and behind Oeschinensee came into view
as we gained elevation.
We eventually encountered a sign declaring the trail closed,
providing a logical turnaround point for our decent back
to Kandersteg for a quick snack before returning to Geneva.
